Does anybody know the origin // etymology of the word YAMAHA (a name of one
far east - Japanese? - corporation)?

Yamaha (Yamah in Sanskrit; yama in Hindi) is God of death in Indian mythology. the word yamaha might have reached to Japan through Buddhism preachers.

No, somehow I don't think so.
The founder of the company (1887) was named Yamaha Torakusu (山葉 寅楠).
"Mountain-leaf", according to the kanji.
Simple as that. It's in Wikipedia.
