Why do the etymologies of "ear" and "hear" seem to kinda ignore each other?
https://www.etymonline.com/word/hear#etymonline_v_6248
https://www.etymonline.com/word/ear#etymonline_v_933

Same in other Germanic languages. Also in Greek: ous, akouo*:
* koein, ko-o: is also mentioned by some: can't find it in my dicos.

Well, here I found an answer, but taken from which source? =>
https://www.quora.com/Are-the-words-ear-and-hear-related/answer/Chris-Outhwaite

So it would be sth like hear ~ (a)k-ear, sharp ear.
